Lung Cu Flagpole Dong Van Ha Giang Vietnam


In Vietnam’s map, Lung Cu, which every Vietnamese people wants to visit once, is the proud peak of our country. The location becomes the North Pole sovereign sacred symbol of our country. The pole was erected on the top of Dragon Mountain of Lung Cu Commune, Vietnam Dong Van District with the height of 1,468 meters above the sea level. Lung Cu Flagpole has an important political meaning of affirming National territory sovereignty, as well as attracting domestic and foreign visitors.

The Pole copies Hanoi Pole model with total 33,15 meters height. The pole’s body is octagonal-shape designed, attached with 8 kettledrum figures and 8 green stone embossments illustrating historical periods of our country and people, custom, habit of Ha Giang ethnic group. The flag covers 54 square meters, symbolizing 54 brother ethnic groups who always unite, together build and protect the country.

Lung Cu flagpole, about 24km from the centre of Dong Van district, is a tourist destination that is meaningful for domestic visitors. Lung Cu mount is liken as “a high forehead of the motherland” where marks the extreme North of our country. From its top, visitors can see the whole of beautiful and spectacular landscape.
